Since the release of my first "Modern Chicken Pickin" DVD, I've had many requests to make a video lesson with solos over the "Folsom" progression in the key of E, so here it is! "Folsom Blues Solo Ideas" includes 4 kick butt modern country chicken pickin guitar solos played over the old classic. Of course, these licks can be played over hundreds of others progressions as well, and that's why I named it "Solo Ideas".
In addition to teaching you some awesome sounding country guitar licks, I also spend
some time going over some rhythm pattern idea's as well. Great lead playing starts
with a solid foundation and understanding of rhythm playing. This is how you
develop a "groove" that will spill over to your lead playing.
With influences from some great chicken pickers like Brent Mason, Brad Paisley, Ray Flacke
others, you'll learn some cool sounding "Ear Twisters" using syncopated licks and
other techniques such as open string licks, double stops, the use of two note
intervals, string bending, hitting the "blue note", and much, much more.
Included with the DVD is a CD that's loaded up with files that contain Tabs for every lick, as well as GPX Tab files for those with Guitar Pro. You get an album full of Jam Tracks that include two speeds, one track with the lead ride, and the other without.

All that extra detail is very helpful because your you go into.... There are so many extra things I'm learning from your DVD about customers have a wide variety of skill levels...
Many instructional DVD's just play the music in general, where the chords stack up on the fretboard, how such and such lick works with what chord etc, that I wouldn't (likely) be picking up on if you just breezed through it to get to the next lick." AJ in Wisconsin
One jam track is a completely different rock groove where I play the same licks, but with a different "feel" and syncopation to help give you an idea how to apply these licks in various songs. Plus, I've included Free Slowdown Software and a Desktop Tuner!
What's good about the dvd is its production quality and his thoroughness in his dissection of his playing and other matters related to amplified guitar. Greg
I'll buy whatever you put out Ken! Keep up the good work!
I think that, in terms of Country music, one of the most valuable (and elusive) aspects of learning is understanding how certain licks & scales fit over what chords, and beyond that is knowing the licks that make for good transitions between the chordsThis DVD has really helped me with that in many ways...Alan
This guitar lesson DVD is loaded
up full of great sounding licks that you can quickly learn and add to your own arsenal of chops. I go into great detail breaking down each lick to help you understand the chord shapes behind them and the scale idea's I use to navigate the neck as I play them.
NOTE: The video quality on these samples are poor and for some unknown reason, the audio is slightly out of synch. The Actual DVD And Downoad Lessons Are Of High Quality And In Perfect Synch.
